ProSoft FoodSAFE® PUL is certified safe for food packaging and preservation

ProSoft FoodSAFE® PUL meets the requirements of US Federal Standard 21 CFR 175.300 and "is safe for use as a food contact surface for articles intended for use in the production, manufacture, packaging, preparation, processing, packaging, transportation or preservation of food" (See: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-21/chapter-I/subchapter-B/part-175/subpart-C/section-175.300).
 
It has also been tested according to the test methods listed in 21 CFR 175.300 for repeated-use storage of food articles. The entire product was selected for testing, and the test criteria were chosen to represent all food types and the most severe temperature/time conditions of the method. The tests were carried out in the USA in a laboratory approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
 
ProSoft® PUL has also been declared compliant with European regulations on food contact, in compliance with Regulation (EC) n° 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 2004 and Commission Regulation (EU) n° 10/2011 of 14 January 2011.

ProSoft® PUL has been tested under the most stringent conditions for all types of food and beverages (except alcoholic beverages), according to the categories below.

A. Types of food that can be used with ProSoft FoodSAFE®  PUL :

  1. Acidic (pH 5.0 or lower) or non-acidic (pH higher than 5.0) or aqueous products; containing salt or sugar or both; containing oil or free fat; including water-in-oil emulsions and oil-in-water emulsions with low or high fat content.
  2. Dairy products and all modifications thereof.
  3. Fats and oils.
  4. Non-alcoholic beverages
  5. Bakery products.
  6. Dry solids.
This covers all types of food and beverages with the exception of alcohol, which has not been tested.

B. Storage conditions under which ProSoft FoodSAFE® PUL can be used :

Tests were carried out using all extreme time/temperature parameters. Food can be placed in the fabric at any temperature - hot, ambient, cold or frozen. For containers, pouches or bags made from the fabric, the food can be:
 
  1. poured into the container and sterilized at high temperature (over 100°C, or 212°F)
  2. poured into the container and sterilized in boiling water.
  3. Hot-poured or pasteurized at over 65°C (150°F) into container
  4. Hot poured or pasteurized at less than 65°C (i.e. 150°F) into container
  5. Poured at room temperature and stored (no heat treatment in the container)
  6. Kept in refrigerated storage (no heat treatment in container)
  7. Kept in frozen storage (no heat treatment in container)
  8. Stored in a freezer: ready-to-use foods to be reheated in the container at the time of use:
    1. Aqueous emulsion or oil-in-water, high or low fat.
    2. Aqueous free fat or oil, high or low fat.
PUL has passed all tests under the most extreme conditions of temperature and time for repeated-use processing, packaging and storage of all types of food, making it an ideal choice for food contact and preservation.
